Tech Week in 6FB

16th May 2025

We welcomed guest speakers from Barclay's Bank, who shared how technology is used in banking and how to stay safe from cyber fraud. The pupils asked brilliant questions and learned about careers in tech and finance. Later in the week, pupils used block-based programming to build interactive projects with Micro:bit. They coded their devices to play games, display images and compose tunes.

Year 5 visit the Balmoral Show

What a fantastic day our Year 5 pupils had at the Balmoral Show today! Year 1 Outdoor Play

16th May 2025

Year 1 enjoyed the sunshine during outdoor play. We worked as a team using the parachute, building bug hotels and even a camper van. We sat under the shade of the parasols to enjoy books, draw pictures and order numbers to 10. We enjoyed a leisurely sail on the bikes and developed language of measure in the sand and water trays. Great work Year One.

Mrs Carson’s class Tech Week

16th May 2025

Pupils in Mrs Carson’s class participated in a coding session using Just2Easy. The pupils drew a flower in a flower pot . They then coded a sprite in this case a butterfly to fly to their flower. Pupils followed the algorithm and had a great sense of delight when their coding successfully moved the butterfly to the flower. Well done Year 1.

Year 1 AH Milkshake

16th May 2025

In World Around Us we have been learning about the journey of milk. We can talk about the cow being milked, the milk going to the dairy and then onto the shops. We talked about our favourite ways to enjoy milk. We tasted strawberry milkshake. We observed as the syrup changed the colour of the milk. We were excited to drink our milkshake. We then used cubes to represent our favourite flavour of milkshake....

Year 1RC make milkshake.

Year One enjoyed making strawberry milkshake today. The pupils talked about the ingredients and utensils needed for making the milkshake. They followed the method and then tasted the milkshake. Only one pupil did not like it and pupils with dairy intolerance had an alternative drink.
