Year 7NT Outdoor learning- Identifying & labelling angles
Year 7NT Outdoor learning- Identifying & labelling angles

Yesterday Year 7 completed their Numeracy lesson outside as part of Outdoor Learning week. We recapped the names of the different angles and then went outside and drew intersecting lines on the playground with chalk to make angles. The children then used protractors to measure the angles and then label them. The children enjoyed their work on angles outside.

Miss Hemphill’s class used their measuring skills to discover which trees were thicker than others in the forest. We used string to measure the width of the trees then compared the lengths of the strings to find out who found the thickest tree. Super work Year One.

Our Year 6 students had an amazing time participating in various activities during Outdoor Learning Week. They enjoyed exploring the forest on Forest Friday, playing hockey and tennis, taking their spelling lessons outside and using a digital compass to navigate around the playground.

Year 1 Outdoor Learning

As part of Outdoor Learning Week Year One planted peas in our school garden. We had to rake the soil to break it up and then water the soil. We followed the instructions for planting the seeds. We look forward to observing changes in our vegetable bed to watch the leaves and shoots appear. We have budding gardeners in Year One.
