Last week we completed lots of tasks to develop and promote our skills in problem solving and processing number patterns. This included thinking trails, number sequencing and ordering values according to place value. We had lots of fun experimenting with team strategy, using our written subtraction skills to solve calculations and form 2D shape puzzles with Izak9. During the week we also expanded our support in understanding addition and subtraction methods by sharing in a parent workshop led by Mrs Robinson, Using Mathemetics Coordinator. All those in attendance practised solving decomposition calculations using dienes materials to lay out and exchange tens and units materials to aid understanding of place value.
