Over the last two weeks we have been looking at the work of Irish artist JP Rooney. We created our own art in a similar style to look like Irish Famine cottages from the 1800s. We used pastels on card, blocks of colour and outlined each item we drew, which is a typical technique used by JP Rooney.

What excitement in Year 3 as we all posted our Santa letters. Some pupils got the opportunity to buy the postage stamp for our very special letter, then post it into the post box. Rosie our Therapy dog also came along for our exciting trip to the post office.

6FB carried out an experiment to discover which packet of crisps was the greasiest .  They tested Tayto, Walkers Baked, Wotsits, and Skips by crushing the crisps and measuring the area covered in grease. After collecting their data, they presented their findings in a colourful bar chart.

Christmas Festivities started today in school with boys and girls arriving this morning wearing Christmas Jumpers. In the Dining Hall, a special Christmas Party Box for pupils was was served by the Kitchen Staff. There was great excitement on Tuesday 2nd December, as Year 4 set off from school to walk to the Glebeside Spar to post all of our Santa Letters. We all enjoyed the lovely walk in bright winter sunshine and putting into practice all  of our lessons on Road Safety, crossing at the Traffic lights and walking on the footpaths.
