This week we celebrated World Book Day on Thursday. We kicked off the day with designing and creating ebooks using our iPads and included illustrations of our favourite book characters. Next we created maps linked to a book we’ve been reading - Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morporgo. We thought about all the landmarks and features of the island Michael has been washed up on and imagined the layout of the island. We drew maps of the island with a legend and co-ordinates. In the afternoon we joined a live lesson with author Jamie Gregory, whose upcoming novel Bonehead, Guardian of the Underworld is out soon. We can’t forget our reading buddies in P3. We came together to share our favourite picture books and read stories together. Throughout the day, we shared lots of books and stories as well as thoughts about our favourite characters, illustrators and authors.
