Year 7 have been enjoying learning all about World War 2 through their topic ‘Keep calm and Carry On’. We particularly enjoyed the workshop from ‘Holding History’ were they had the opportunity to handle artefacts from the war as well as experiencing life as a soldier by completing drills including an obstacle course.
This term we have also been learning about evacuees and we wrote a tanka poem thinking about what it would be like to be evacuated. We also made World War 2 posters in the computer suite about rationing, growing your own produce, mending your own clothes and enlisting in the army.
We have really enjoyed learning all about World War 2 this term.
