Year 4 had a very interesting visit from the STEM Ambassdor, Dr Yessenia, from Queen’s University Belfast, to start Tech Week in our school.The boys and girls listened to her presentation about her research work of the Smart Nano NI Group, which is led by Seagate Technology. The focus of the visit was the question, “How do we understand The World Around Us.” To find out answers to this Dr Yessenia, talked about the History and development in Digital Technology of “The Microscope.” The boys and girls in 4JM and 4NM, all enjoyed making a microscope and trying to make the magic bubble work as a magnifying glass.
A huge thank you to Dr Yessenia for coming to visit Year 4 on Monday 12th May. Also may I take this opportunity to extend a huge thanks to Mrs Boyle, UICT Leader in our school, for organising TECH Week 2025, along with the help of her amazing Digital Leader Team.
