With the fabulous spell of warm, dry weather, our Friday timetable has been mostly spent outdoors. With Forest Friday, PE and Outdoor Play, we certainly have made the most of our excellent resources, location and the lovely spring weather. Looking forward to many more opportunities in Term 3!

Our school has such a fabulous location for outdoor learning and Forest Fridays. We have been exploring our outdoor classroom, willow tunnels and the different sights, sounds and species within our school environment. Here is a little clip of our will tunnel train as we began the nature colour hunt as part of our whole school outdoor learning initiative.

Pupils in Mrs Carson’s class were learning lots of things about food as part of the “Yummy, Yummy” food topic during Term 2. They thought about food they like/disliked, where food comes from and the effect of heating and cooling on food. Best of all they sampled lots of different foods. Year One pupils thoroughly enjoyed making Easter Nests. They discussed the ingredients required and the method was followed to make the Easter Nests. While the pupils waited patiently for the buns to set, they completed a sequencing activity, to record the procedure followed to make the buns. At last it was time to taste and everyone agreed they tasted delicious!

The pupils in Mrs Carson’s class were delighted to welcome parents, family and friends to a special assembly which they led. The assembly focussed on the monthly value of respect. Pupils talked about what respect means to them. They also recited a respect poem and sang some respect songs.
